This year’s really successful ‘Latha Twitter na #Gàidhlig’ sought to engage more people than last year, and as well as using our existing Social networks, we did this by creating the first-ever front page advert of that type in the National newspaper:
As well as the paper edition on the 30th April, our message was also distributed via the newspaper’s Social Media channels on Facebook and Twitter when the paper released its front page cover image.
As well as being retweeted 199 times and favourited 104 times, it was good to see Gàidhlig being used in the comments a couple of times:
Further awareness was achieved when The National included the front cover again in another Tweet being sent out, resulting in a further 169 Retweets to date and 81 favourites:
Over on Facebook, the front cover had been shared 67 times and liked 341 times:
In addition to the newspaper advert, we carried out a flash Google Ads campaign. The Google Ads campaign ran on the 29th and 30th April and resulted in creating 14 click throughs to the Twitter Day blog and 6778 impressions on the Google search, always in top position.
